Amherst studio to host food drive for soup kitchen
AMHERST – FlexFit Studio will host a food drive on Saturday, Nov. 21, at its Amherst studio at 10 Northern Blvd., Unit 15A.
The event is in support of the Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter.
Free small group classes, informational sessions and workshops will be available to any participants who arrive with a donation of nonperishable food items in unbreakable containers.
The objective of the soup kitchen is to advocate, create, and operate programs and services that promote dignity and self-sufficiency for those it serves. About 300 individuals and families receive nonperishable food items each week. Many of these people are the working poor, elderly and disabled living on a fixed income.
"We at FlexFit Studio believe strongly in the power of community and are committed to contributing in as many ways as we can," said FlexFit owner and personal trainer Chelsey Dewar.
"The NSK&S is an organization that serves such a vital function in our community. My grandfather was a small-business owner who for over 40 years donated to his local food charities, and I want to keep that spirit alive to continue his legacy."
