Local dancers to perform in ‘Nutcracker’

VouliDance and the Souhegan Valley Dance Theatre are bringing the beloved holiday tradition to the Souhegan Valley community with the towns’ best dancers.

The performers put a lot of work and care into bringing all of the beloved characters of "The Nutcracker" to life: Clara and Fritz, the Rat Queen and the Dew Drop Fairy, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and the Spanish, Russian, Arabian and Mirltone characters.

Gabby Whitaker, of Merrimack, has put a lot of work into performing as the Snow Queen and the Chinese lead. Head soldier is Chrissy Ryan, of Merrimack, who – together with her platoon – brings a terrific battle scene against the mice onstage.

Spanish is Naomi Goodman, a student at Hollis Brookline High School.

Elisabeth Roadcap, of Milford, will perform as the Rat Queen and in the Spanish duet. The Dew Drop Fairy is Julia Patterson, of Milford, who – together with her Cavalier and her little flower assembly – brings beauty and joy onstage.

For the first time in its three years, performers ages 3-5 are included in the production.

Performances will be at 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Souhegan High School. Tickets are $15-$20, and are available at voulidancenh.brownpapertickets.com and at the door.
