Brookline to hold second Chili/Chowder/Soup Cook-Off

BROOKLINE – Last year, the Chili/Chowder/Soup CookOff, previously organized by the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce, moved to Brookline, and was a great success.

The event welcomed more than 100 visitors who tasted and enjoyed many delicious offerings.

The second Brookline CookOff will be from noon-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at the Brookline Event Center, 32 Proctor Hill Road (Route 130), and is once again being organized by the Brookline Economic Development Committee.

The event includes three categories: chili, chowder and soup. Judging will be between noon and 2:30 p.m. The first prize winner for each category will be announced at 2:45.

All attendees will be eligible to win gift certificates from local restaurants. A raffle will be drawn at 2:45 p.m.

Restaurateurs from Amherst, Bedford, Brookline, Hollis, Nashua, Merrimack, Mason and Milford, as well as Townsend and Pepperell, Mass., are looking forward to serving the best warm concoctions you will ever taste.

Participate in the judging by filling out a voting ballot. Have a good time and enjoy some of the best chilis, chowders and soups in the Merrimack Valley.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children younger than 12.
