Hollis man honored for blood donations
Hollis resident Bruce Moran was honored at the Everyday Heroes Awards held March 16 in Manchester.
Moran, a U.S. Army veteran and recipient of two Purple Hearts, has been giving blood regularly since he was 16. As of December, he has donated more than 83 gallons of blood and has made 442 platelet donations. By a conservative estimate, his donations have touched the lives of more than 700 people.
Every year the American Red Cross holds the Everyday Heroes Awards in an effort to raise public awareness of local heroes who reflect the mission of the Red Cross by responding in time of need with selfless acts of courage and compassion. The Heroes selected this year are continuing proof that one person can indeed make a lasting and meaningful impact to human life with one caring act.
The 2016 Everyday Heroes Awards are presented by the New Hampshire/Vermont Region of the American Red Cross, NH1 and Unitil.
