Amherst Garden Club plant sale planned

AMHERST – The Amherst Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, on the Wilkins Elementary School front field.

In addition to more than 2,000 locally grown perennials, there will be annuals, herbs, shrubs and young trees. There will also be a baked goods table featuring cakes and treats to share, a used book table featuring gently used gardening books and magazines, and a garden boutique featuring items produced by club members.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to buy raffle tickets for garden-themed baskets. Past raffle basket items have included bird feeders, bird and gardening books, gardening tools, and children’s toys and crafts.

If you have dull clippers, don’t forget to bring them along for a sharpening.

It’s a good idea to arrive early, as the most popular plants and garden items will sell quickly.

The event will be held rain or shine.
