Hollis Strawberry Festival celebrates start of summer
HOLLIS – The annual Hollis Strawberry Festival will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 26, on the Town Common.
Come and enjoy this celebration of locally grown strawberries and all of the delicious things that go with them. There will be homemade biscuits, hand-whipped cream and homemade ice cream.
The Hollis Town Band will provide lively entertainment. The band will perform familiar popular and classical works.
The Strawberry Festival has been a celebration of the start of summer in Hollis for 70 years. It’s an all-volunteer event with more than 150 contributing their efforts. Lull Farm and Brookdale Farm donate the strawberries.
The Hollis Women’s Club it still looking for helpers to hull the strawberries at 9 a.m. Friday, June 24, at the Congregational Church in Monument Square.
In case of rain, the festival will be held at Hollis Brookline Middle School, 25 Main St.
