Milford High holding STEM Night for girls

MILFORD – Milford High School and Applied Technology Center is hosting its second annual STEM Night from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13.

Girls in grades 5-8 will be able to learn about career pathways in biotechnology, construction, precision machining, computer science and engineering. Students will also have the opportunity to connect with business partners such as Hitchiner Manufacturing, Fidelity Investments, Velcro Brand and more.

This program was developed to help encourage and inspire female students toward a STEM pathway.

Milford High opens its doors to students within a 15-mile radius of Milford. Students will go through 20-minute, hands-on labs that are run by students in these programs.

That is part of what makes this program unique: Students teaching students. These high school students are girls who have developed a program that helps inspire others.

There are 60 spots available. To reserve a space or for more information, email fxydias@milfordk12.org.
