HOLLIS OLD HOME DAYS 2017 – EVENT SCHEDULE

Old Home Days is Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16 and has plenty in store for people of all ages. Activities include midway games, rides, hot air balloon rides, parade, fireworks, teen dance and more.

Ongoing demonstrations and events throughout the entire two-day event include rug hooking, spinning, cross-stitch, wood turning, various Hollis Art Society artists’ work on display. Also bring your appetite as we have more food vendors then before and our Chicken Barbecue is back again this year.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 15

5-7 p.m. RE/MAX Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides, weather permitting ($10 per person)

5-9 p.m. Lizzi the Balloon Artist

6-10 p.m. Amusement Rides and Midway open, food and beverages available

7-10 p.m. Teen Dance with DJ, no charge (Entertainment Tent)

SATURDAY, SEPT. 16

6:30 a.m. Hot air balloon launch untethered flight, weather permitting

10 a.m.-4 p.m. Cow Pattie Bingo tickets for sale (Hollis Brookline Rotary Club booth)

10 a.m.-5 p.m. Booths open All vendor and organization. Ongoing demonstrations: rug hooking, potter, blacksmith, cooper, baskets, Carriage Shack Farm Petting Zoo

10 a.m.-5 p.m. Artisan market & children’s art activities (Lawrence Barn)

10 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Amusements and Midway open, food and beverages available

10 a.m. Main Street closed for parade

10:30 a.m. Parade starts at Hollis Brookline High School, going along Main Street, past Town Common, ending at Nichols Field

11 a.m.-5 p.m. Silent Auction (Lawrence Barn)

11:30a.m.-2:30 p.m. Car, Truck & Tractor Show

Noon Flag raising by Hollis Scouts; National Anthem and God Bless America sung by John Ogrodowczyk accompanied by Hollis Town Band (Entertainment Tent);

Noon Apple Pie Contest entry deadline (Hollis Woman’s Club booth)

Noon-1:30 p.m. Renaissance Farm Equestrian Vaulting demonstration (Lawrence Barn horse ring)

12:15-1 p.m. Band Concert by Hollis Town Band (Entertainment Tent)

12:15-2:30 p.m. Hollis Area Equestrians Demos (Lawrence Barn horse ring)

12:30-1 p.m. Granite State Disc Dogs demonstration (Nichols Field, north end of track)

1 p.m. Apple Pie Contest judging (Hollis Woman’s Club booth)

9-11 a.m. Silent Auction Winners Pick-Up, cash and checks only (Lawrence Barn)

8 p.m. Rain date for fireworks
