Hollis Brookline High School FIRST Robotics team competes at World Championships

Over April vacation, Hollis Brookline High School’s FIRST Robotics Competition Team, FRC 1073, The Force Team, competed Detroit, Mich., in the World Championship. This is the second year in a row that the team has qualified for this competition, and they were ready to show other teams what they can do.

At the World Championship, teams competing are divided into different divisions, all named after famous scientists. The number one teams from those divisions move on to compete on the Einstein field. This year, 1073 was in the Tesla division with 66 other teams competing to make it to Einstein. Two days were dedicated entirely to qualification matches before the finals started on the third and final day. The Force team won five out of their 10 qualification matches and unfortunately was not chosen to compete in the finals. In the end, Team 1073 placed 41st out of the 67 teams competing on the Tesla Field and achieved Safety Star of the Day one of the days.

Team 1073 would like to thank the community for their perennial support of our program. We could not have gotten as far as we did without your donations and encouragement.
