Merrimack Holiday Parade re-do is this weekend

Merrimack’s Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting has been rescheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, due to inclement weather.

The parade, hosted by Merrimack’s Parks and Recreation Department and the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce, originally was scheduled for Dec. 1, a dark and rainy day pleasing to only the grumpiest Grinch.

Parade participants will meet for the newly rescheduled event at The Commons Shopping Plaza, across from the Merrimack Post Office on Daniel Webster Highway. The parade will travel south on Daniel Webster Highway and progress to Merrimack’s Town Hall, 6 Baboosic Lake Road, and the adjacent Abbie Griffin Park, location of the tree lighting and other holiday festivities.

After the tree lighting, Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with the children to hear their wishes. Merrimack Girl Scouts will be on hand to offer free cookies and refreshments.
