Seventh-grader recognized by Merrimack Lions for peace poster

Merrimack Middle School seventh-grader Isabella Schueler was presented an award at the Merrimack Lions Club meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 4, for the poster she made for the Lions International Peace Poster contest.

Isabella attended with her mother, Martina Schueler. The peace poster chairwoman, Lion Sandy Hoye, presented the award.

Isabella was one of several Merrimack Middle School students who submitted a poster. The theme was “Our World, Our Future.” Lions International holds the contest yearly to emphasize the importance of world peace to young people.

“Connecting children is the key to a united world of peace,” Isabella wrote about her poster.

Isabella’s poster will be on display with other entries and winners from Lions Clubs across the state at the Kimball-Jenkins Gallery in Concord beginning Sunday, March 16.
