MERRIMACK – The Merrimack Fire and Rescue Department will hold its annual Junior Fire Muster from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 29, at James Mastricola Upper Elementary School.

Fire department personnel train with the schools before the event and mentors help each school during the competition, which is open to teams chosen from the fourth- and fifth-grade classes at Reeds Ferry, Thornton’s Ferry, and Mastricola elementary and upper elementary schools.

The teams compete against in three firefighting-related events: The Dry Hose Connection, The Midnight Alarm and the Bucket Brigade.

The winning team will be presented with the Merrimack Firefighters Trophy, which it will be able to display at school until the competition next year.
