Company donates to Harbor Homes in Merrimack

Three pickup trucks arrived at Harbor Homes’ front door at 45 High St. on March 19, piled high with in-kind and monetary donations generated by a company volunteer employee campaign.

Three employees from the Merrimack office of Fidelity Investments were behind the collection efforts and orchestrated the delivery of the needed items. The three individuals coordinated a three-week donation drive at Fidelity for Harbor Homes veterans.

Harbor Homes employees helped unload the trucks. The items included items toiletries, cleaning supplies, dishes, kitchen supplies, bathroom linens, pillows, sheets, comforters, laundry baskets, socks and underwear.

A Fidelity employee also handed over a bag full of gift certificates to a myriad of places, including Wal-Mart, Lowe’s, Target, Subway, Walgreens, CVS, Shell, Marshall’s, Applebee’s, Starbucks, Shaw’s and Market Basket totaling more than $2,300.

In addition, over the three weeks, Fidelity in Merrimack ran a drive in which employees donated to veterans using an online fundraising method. That campaign raised more than $2,000.

Harbor Homes provides the opportunities for our homeless veterans and their families to experience a new beginning from falling into crisis.
