Merrimack pets of the week for April 27
Humane Society for Greater Nashua
Well, hello there! I’m Jake, an 8-year-old coonhound cross who is as sweet as can be. I’ve got a great, easygoing personality and can happily live with cats, dogs and kids. I still have lots of pep in my step and really enjoy playing, and absolutely love going on walks! The staff here always tells me how smart I am, since I know so many commands, but “Speak” is my favorite – it must be the hound in me! Since I’m a big guy, I would be so happy if my new family had room for me to roam outside, and then a big bed for me to sleep on at night. Come take me for a walk today, and we’ll become fast friends and hopefully family. If you’re into adventures during the day and cuddles at night, then I’m your guy!
I’m Freckles, a young, 2-year-old cat who just can’t wait to move into my forever home. I’m a little bashful, but once I’ve had a chance to get to know you, you’ll see what a sweet, gentle soul I am. I would do best in a home with older kids and adults, and could even live with another kitty or two. I will take some time to feel comfortable in my new environment, but once I do, I know I’ll blossom into a wonderful family member. I enjoy attention, and will even purr with happiness when you scratch my favorite spots. With time, I will likely even show you my goofy side – especially if you have a piece of string for me to chase! If you have room in your heart for a girl who really needs a quiet home and family to love, then look no further!

One look in to Luna’s soul-searching brown eyes will melt your heart. Luna is a beautiful 3-year-old Lab/terrier mix weighing 50 pounds. She is tan, peppered with black and white. She’s uber-sweet and very loving. Luna’s zest for life is contagious. She was fostered at a local kennel, quickly becoming a staff favorite. Luna hopes to join an active family who will play fetch, exercise her regularly and include her in fun times. She may enjoy agility sports. Luna loves to curl up next to a friend and snuggle after a hard day at play. She enjoys children. Luna would benefit from further socialization with other dogs to learn boundaries and what’s expected of her when meeting new dogs. Luna is food motivated, making training easy. Luna is waiting for you to make her a part of your family. She promises to give you the moon and more!
