Merrimack-based Community Hospice House receives Rivier award

Home Health & Hospice Care’s Community Hospice House was the recipient of Rivier University’s Presidents’ Community Partner award.

The award reception was held Tuesday, April 8, when the director of human resources, Brenda Rugg, and the chief financial officer, Daryl Cady, accepted the award on behalf of the Hospice House and the agency.

The award was given to the best representative for their service and commitment to the communities of New Hampshire. The Hospice House was recognized as having exemplary staff, particularly caring and compassionate nurses.

“The Community Hospice House has a long-standing, mutually beneficial relationship with Rivier University,” Cady said. “We employ several Rivier graduates, and several students intern with the agency on a regular basis.”

The internships provide the students with a deeper understanding of the connection between grief, bereavement, pain management, and the patient’s emotional and spiritual needs, with the end-of-life care.
