Merrimack dads greeted with tribute for Father’s Day
His hands helped build a family. So many jobs to do.
They’ve whittled toys
for girls and boys.
And not stopped ‘til he’s through
fixing chairs and lawnmowers salvaged from the dump,
so that his kids can have them, free.
He’s saved them quite a lump.
His hands repair a lot of cars.
His battle wounds are scrapes and scars
bestowed on him by rusty bolts and stubborn nuts and such.
His hands don’t rest ’til day is done.
He built a bat house, just for fun.
A cup of soup, then he’s on the run
– to help someone, Job Number One!
