Merrimack winter parking ban begins Saturday
MERRIMACK – The Merrimack Police Department and Department of Public Works remind residents that the winter parking ban will be in effect throughout town beginning Saturday, Nov. 15.
The ban prohibits parking on town streets and roads between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. It will be in effect through April 15.
The Police Department will tow vehicles at the request of the Department of Public Works that are parked in violation of the ban or during a declared snow emergency and are impeding snow removal.
Vehicle owners who violate the ban are subject to a fine.
The Department of Public Works reminds parents and motorists to beware of
children playing on and around snowbanks or building “snow forts” inside the snowbanks.
This is a dangerous practice, as the snow could cave in on the children as plows and cars drive by and push snow to the side of the road.
