Merrimack Winter Carnival seeks groups to participate

MERRIMACK – The Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department invites you to join it from noon-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, for the 23rd annual Winter Carnival at Wasserman Park.

Enjoy a day of free family activities, including a youth ice fishing derby with the Merrimack Lions Club, snowmobile rides with the Sno-Buds snowmobile club, snowshoeing courtesy of Eastern Mountain Sports of Nashua, a cardboard box sledding contest (advance registration required), a snowman building competition sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 10623, an outdoor campfire with s’mores and more winter fun.

Inside the function hall, local nonprofit organizations will offer a variety of snacks and refreshments, with proceeds benefiting their organizations.

Local businesses, community groups, committees and organizations interested in taking part are encouraged to contact the Parks and Recreation Department. Ideas in the past have included demonstrations, children’s games, face painting, concession tables and raffles.
