Merrimack Lions to hold annual golf fundraiser
The Merrimack Lions Club will hold its 13th annual charity golf tournament, “Swinging for Charity,” at Amherst Country Club on Monday, July 20.
Everyone is welcome to play. The fee is $125, which includes green fees, cart, gift bag, contests, prizes, snacks and barbecue. Raffles also will be held.
To register, call Alan Hoye at 424-7897 or Phil Przybyszewski at 424-3311.
This is one of the club’s largest fundraisers. Proceeds support town programs such as the food pantries at St. James Methodist Church, St. John Neumann Catholic Church and Riverside Christian Church; Camp Allen; The Caregivers; Meals on Wheels; Camp Naticook; high school scholarships and grants; eye exams; eyeglasses; eye screenings; the Friars Club Christmas Party; the Merrimack Welfare Office Operation Santa program; Daniel Webster Highway roadside cleanup; the Merrimack Winter Carnival; the Leos Club; and the school peace poster contest.
The club participated the Merrimack Business Expo once again. Two new and successful programs this year were the Scarecrows for Diabetes and the Shoebox Recycling Program.
The club meets twice a month, on the first and third Tuesdays at local restaurants. Meetings will resume in September.
If you are interested in attending or learning more about the club, call Tricia Hanson at 424-6884. Also, see the club’s page at facebook.com/merrimacknhlions.
