Town could win money for dog park

Merrimack – The Town of Merrimack has made the final round of PetSafe’s national Bark For Your Park contest and in just two short weeks, could ultimately be awarded up to $100,000 towards the new dog park. Project officials are calling on friends both near and far to vote via PetSafe’s Facebook page and website. Each supporter may cast up to two votes per day. Voting may be conducted via the Bark For Your Park website, www.petsafe.net/barkforyoupark, or on the PetSafe Facebook page. Voting ends July 22.

Merrimack surpassed hundreds of other nominated towns across the country. Merrimack is the sole prize contender from the Northeast, and is in the lead for communities of "medium" size competing against Illinois, Georgia, Oklahoma and Michigan.

Bark For Your Park has a grand prize of $100,000 in addition to four $25,000 runner-up prizes. Winners will be determined based on the highest number of votes among the top five towns based on population category and size.
