Dance studio’s ‘Nutcracker’ auditions open to Souhegan Valley children 5 and older

VouliDance is bringing back the beloved holiday tradition of "The Nutcracker" to the Souhegan Valley.

Its first two "Nutcracker" productions were a tremendous success. This is truly a holiday event that brings together the people of the Souhegan region. Making a production close to home is an opportunity for all of the little ballerinas, princes and their families to be part of the making of "The Nutcracker."

"The success of ‘The Nutcracker’ has been a wonderful surprise and a great joy," said Vouli Anthimidou, artistic director of VouliDance. "Young and old from the surrounding towns participated in bringing it to life, and our audience left happy and dancing."

Auditions for "The Nutcracker" will be held Sunday, Sept. 13, starting at 2 p.m. Children must be 5 by the audition date to participate. Parents of children younger than 5 should contact VouliDance about being part of "The Nutcracker."

Auditions will be from 2-2:30 p.m. for ages 5-7, 2:30-3:15 for ages 8-12 and 3:15-4:30 for those older than 12 and any dancer with pointe shoes.

VouliDance is at 71 Route 101A, Amherst. To register for the audition or for more information, visit voulidance.com or call 554-8626.
