MHS Class of 1975 holds 40th reunion

The Class of ’75 Merrimack High School alumni met for our 40th reunion on Sept. 19.

We had over 50 alumni and 30 spouses attending at the Puritan Backroom in Manchester. Classmates from Texas, Florida, Montana, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, Vermont and Maine, as well as from all over New Hampshire, made the trip. A pre-reunion get together on Friday at Fuzzy’s and a post party at the Homestead rounded out the weekend.

Highlights included 15 alumni who started first grade together in Merrimack getting together for a group picture. Our civic involvement stood out, too, with a current school board member and current town councilor attending.

Our previous reunion was 20 years ago, and technology has changed so much that we were able to reach out and find many, but not all, of our classmates. Social media allowed everyone to come together online. It was really exciting to see the group’s Facebook membership grow as each new person was located, in some cases getting long-ago friends together again.

A heartfelt thanks to the reunion team that worked so hard to pull this all together. It was amazing that after 40 years, we were talking, dancing and enjoying, just like we were in high school again. We missed those classmates who could not attend, and promise to have more reunions.
