Merrimack woman recognized by state DAR

NASHUA – Judy Eriksen, of Merrimack, registrar and past regent of the Matthew Thornton Chapter in Nashua, received the State Profile Award when the state organization of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution held its fall meeting on Oct. 24 at the Holiday Inn in Concord.

The honored guests were Claudia Onken, Delaware state regent, and Carol Schwenk, Vermont state regent. The morning session consisted of a general meeting followed by an awards luncheon.

Eriksen was recognized with a trophy, as well as a book that will be donated to the NSDAR Library in her honor. She received the award in recognition of her leadership in the DAR in the chapter, state and national organizations, as well as her work with veterans groups and in the community of Merrimack.

The award was initiated by DAR State Regent’s Phyllis Gagnon’s administration to highlight the state theme of "Celebrating and Strengthening a Lasting Profile of Patriotism and Service."
