All welcome for free throw contest
All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2016 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. The local competition will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. John Neumann Gym, 708 Milford Road (off Route 101A), in Merrimack. Registration is at the start of the event, and there is no cost to participate in this event. For additional information contact Eric Dano at email@example.com.
The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is sponsored annually with winners progressing through state competition. All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event and trophies are provided for council champions. All boys and girls 9 to 14 years old are eligible to participate and will compete in their respective age divisions. Pre-registration is not required. Since its beginning in 1972, over 2.5 million youths have participated in the contest.
The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic family fraternal service organization with over 1.8 million members in more than 14,500 local councils. Last year, Knights donated 70 million volunteer hours and $162 million to charitable and benevolent causes, sponsoring projects to benefit their church, councils, communities, families and youth.
