Marguerite’s Place receives $4,500 grant thanks to company’s Merrimack employee
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Allied Wire & Cable hosts a charity week each year during which a percentage of sales is donated to charitable organizations. This year was the electrical distributor’s 10th annual charity week, which was held Dec. 14-18.
This year, the company chose to support four organizations that have a special connection with the employees of each branch, including the branch in Merrimack. Marguerite’s Place in Nashua was awarded $4,551.06.
Laura Gaskill, a sales assistant in the New Hampshire branch, has been working with Marguerite’s Place for about seven years. Marguerite’s Place is a transitional housing program in Nashua that helps women and children in crisis become stable again.
Prior to joining the team at Allied, Gaskill worked for a bridal shop that supported Marguerite’s Place by donating dresses each year. Gaskill became more involved with Marguerite’s Place by helping in food drives and other initiatives. Since leaving the bridal shop, Gaskill stayed active within the organization and continues to help women and children in need.
The other charities receiving a $4,551.06 donation were Pets for Vets, Shriners Hospitals for Children – Twin Cities and American Diabetes Association.
