Merrimack actors to perform in ‘Noises Off’

MILFORD – The Milford Area Players, winner of the 2009, 2011 and 2013 New Hampshire Theatre Award for Best Production in Drama/Comedy for Community Theatre, will present the Tony-award winning comedy "Noises Off" by Michael Frayn at the Amato Center for the Performing Arts, 56 Mont Vernon St., from March 11-20.

Called the funniest farce every written, "Noises Off" presents a manic menagerie cast of itinerant actors rehearsing a flop called "Nothing’s On."

The opening night performance is just hours away, and as the cast stumbles through their final dress rehearsal, things couldn’t be going any worse.

With lines being forgotten, love triangles unraveling and sardines flying everywhere, it’s complete pandemonium … and we haven’t even reached intermission. Can the cast pull their act together on the stage even if they can’t behind the scenes?

The cast includes Patrick O’Mara, of Amherst; Colin Malette, of Hudson; Amy Agostino, of Londonderry; Neal Blaiklock and Ashley Hughes Swanson, of Merrimack; Katie Hammes and Jimmy Stewart, of Milford; and Kevin Linkroum and Kimberly Miller, of Nashua.

The play is directed by Billy Pomerleau, of Milford.

"Noises Off" will be staged for two weekends, with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. General admission tickets are $15 for adults, and $10 for ages 60 and older and students. Advance tickets are available at Toadstool Bookshop and Tickets also will be available at the door.
