Scout meets president

Neel Dhanaraj, of Merrimack, had the honor of representing the Boy Scouts of America in Washington, D.C., and meeting President Barack Obama.

Based on the nomination and selection by the National Council for the Boys Scout of America, Dhanaraj, along with nine other delegates, toured Washington from Feb. 27-March 3 and presented the "Report to the Nation" to Obama, ecretaries and other key leaders by visiting the Capitol Building, White House, Pentagon, Supreme Court and other places of national importance.

These 10 delegates were selected from among about 2.5 million youth members from all 50 states.

During the last 100 years, Dhanaraj is the second person to have been selected from New Hampshire for this national honor.
