Library to host ‘Old Country Fiddler’

The Merrimack Public Library will present "The Old Country Fiddler: Charles Ross Taggart, Traveling Entertainer" at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 7.

Living history presenter Adam Boyce will portray Taggart, a musical humorist who performed in various lyceum and Chautauqua circuits all over North America for more than 40 years, starting in 1895. Taggart appeared in a 1923 Phono-Film "talkie" four years before Al Jolson starred in "The Jazz Singer."
