Church to hold Preparedness Fair
NASHUA – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints local Merrimack and Nashua congregations will hold a Preparedness Fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at 110 Concord Road Nashua.
The event is free and open to the public.
Bring your family and learn new ways to get prepared for economic challenges, natural disasters or other emergency events.
This is an open house event with displays, demonstrations and food samples. For the kids, there will be activities and Nashua Fire Rescue on hand to give tours of an emergency vehicle.
Preparedness enthusiasts will present information on a variety of topics, including food and water storage, gardening, communications, emergency kits, first aid/CPR, backup and solar power, beekeeping and outdoor cooking.
Presenters of note are:
Justin T. Kates, certified emergency manager, director of emergency management, city of Nashua – Emergency response resources/Community Emergency Response Team training for volunteers.
Mike Comber, paramedic at Pridestar EMS, certified first aid and CPR instructor – CPR demonstrations.
Clint Ellsworth, president at Harvest Pathway, an online organic non-GMO grocery store – Greenhouse gardening and growing your own meat.
Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Kerrigan, Nashua Fire Rescue.
