School hosting Color-A-Thon event
Color-A-Thon is coming to Merrimack.
The Merrimack elementary school PTO groups – Thorntons Ferry PTTF, Mastricola Elementary PATT and Reeds Ferry PFA – will host their first ever elementarywide fundraising partnership, Color-A-Thon, on Friday, June 3, at Wasserman Park, rain or shine.
This 1-mile course will be tailored toward children from preschool to fourth grade.
First, students will raise donations and earn rewards depending on the level of donations they raise, which will be used to fund educational enrichment programs and other activities that benefit the elementary students inside and outside the classroom. They will then get the chance to participate in the fun run, where they can walk, run, skip or dance through the race course, where they will get showered in safe, eco-friendly, plant-based powdered dye at every zone – four colorful zones, to be exact – turning them into a moving colorful target of fun.
After all of the race waves are completed, participants will celebrate their accomplishments in a Color Blast after-party at the finish line. There will be a countdown to when everyone rips open their color packets to share a blast of color with family, friends and everyone around.
It is designed to be a fun way to get students and their families outside and have a blast while raising money for their schools.
A concession stand with light snacks, beverages and healthy food options from local organizations will be available by the Function Hall. Vendors such as Kona Ice, Launch Trampoline Park, Lil’ Iguana’s Children’s Safety Foundation, Merrimack Crimeline and more will be on hand.
The Merrimack Police and Fire departments will be on-site to ensure a safe event for all.
This colorful event will need many volunteers. There are many sponsorship opportunities available for Merrimack businesses, groups and families. If you are interested in volunteering or sponsoring this event, contact Gianne Cruz at email@example.com.
