Merrimack man named SCORE mentor for Merrimack Valley

Steve Brown, of Merrimack, was named by the Merrimack Valley chapter of SCORE as a member of the volunteer nonprofit organization and a certified small-business mentor.

SCORE, an arm of the U.S. Small Business Administration, is a national association with more than 13,000 volunteers. Its members provide no-cost business advice and counseling to existing small businesses and to those wishing to start new businesses.

Brown, who holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA from Rivier College, worked in various sales and management capacities for national manufacturers of heavy construction hardware such as Richmond Screw Anchor, Dayton Superior and Meadow Burke.

The Merrimack Valley chapter of SCORE, which covers Nashua, Manchester, Concord and the surrounding areas, has about 70 current and former business executives available to provide free, confidential, one-on-one business counseling and training workshops for local start-ups and existing businesses.
