Swimmy teaches young readers about water safety
MERRIMACK – Featuring full-color illustrations, "Water Safety with Swimmy: 10 Water Safety Rules Everyone Should Follow" (published by LifeRich Publishing) teaches young swimmers about water safety rules they should follow while they are near any body of water.
Swimmy, the lifeguard, takes young readers through the rules step by step in an easy to understand and fun way to learn to be safer around the water.
The author is Carolanne Caron, who owns Winning Swimming LLC in Merrimack. She instructs children and adults and holds certifications from the American Red Cross, USA Swimming and the American Swim Coaches Association. Caron also is an approved water safety presenter in the state.
"I wrote ‘Water Safety with Swimmy’ because I couldn’t find a good water safety book which introduced easy rules that children should know around the water, and then followed with ‘Swimmy’s Water Safety Coloring Book’ to further expand on the rules," Caron said.
Here is an excerpt from "Water Safety with Swimmy":
"If it’s stormy, lightning, or thunder,
"Get out quick and take cover.
"Go inside away from water.
"Listen to lifeguards and the spotters.
"Wait 30 minutes before going back
"From the last thunder clap."
"Water Safety with Swimmy" and "Swimmy’s Water Safety Coloring Book," both e-books, are available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
