Historical Scavenger Hunt planned for summer
The Merrimack Heritage Commission will sponsor another Historical Scavenger Hunt this year.
There will be 13 stops to complete. Passports will be available at the Historical Society booth at the July 4th n Day and at the town manager’s office after that.
Each stop will be a location in Merrimack that is of historical interest. You will start at the one listed on the passport, and at each stop there will be a plastic box on a post.
In each box will be a sheet of stickers. Place one sticker from that stop on your passport, and take a copy of the paper telling you of the importance of the location and the next stop on your journey.
There is no deadline to complete, but it will be fun to do during the summer. There are also no prizes this time, so this is strictly for fun and learning.
The latest historical tour brochures will be available at the booth, Town Hall and the library.
This one is about the fourth village that comprises the town of Merrimack. This one is South Merrimack, to join the other three: Reeds Ferry Village, Souhegan Village and Thornton’s Ferry Village.
