Rotary Club of Merrimack awards seven scholarships

Members of the Rotary Club of Merrimack Scholarship Fund awarded scholarships to seven Merrimack High School seniors this year.

The scholarships help provide financial assistance to students as they pursue higher-level education.

This year’s recipients were Melanie Glick, applied technology; Nathaniel Watson, arts; Caitlin Watkins, Anthony Deblasio Community Service Scholarship; Kayla Franklin, President’s Award; and Samantha Anderson, Brandon Jeglinski and Eve Sudol, Rotary Community Scholarships.

This year’s awards represented almost 20 percent of the total dollar amount given to students at MHS Awards Night. The funds provided are derived from annual Rotary Club of Merrimack fundraisers and growth from the RCMSFI endowment fund.

The RCMSFI was established in tandem with the Merrimack Rotary Club to oversee an endowment fund that Rotarians hoped the community would help grow over the years. Growth of the fund will allow the RCMSFI committee to continue awarding scholarships to deserving students in the Merrimack community.
