VFW Auxiliary to honor Vietnam veterans

In honor of Vietnam veterans, VFW Auxiliary 168 will hold a ’50s/’60s block party fundraiser featuring the Reminsants.

The event will be held from 1-5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Anheuser-Busch, 221, Daniel Webster Highway.

Ticket options include 20 tickets for a Chinese auction, light lunch of a hamburger or hot dog and chips, photo ops with the Budweiser Clydesdales, and hours of fun dancing and singing along to your favorite oldies.

All Vietnam combat veterans and Vietnam era veterans will be recognized and presented with a 50th Vietnam War commemorative lapel pin on behalf of a grateful nation. Vietnam veterans will receive a 50 percent discount on their ticket with proof of service in-country and/or during the war.

A drawing will be held at the block party. Those whose names are drawn will receive airfare and registration for one to the Vietnam 50th anniversary international commemorative event to be held in Oahu in May 2017 if they meet eligibility requirements.

Guest speakers will include Natalie Healy, Gold Star mother of Dan Healy.
