Informal groundbreaking held for new Merrimack dog park
After a decade of planning, the dog park at Wasserman Park is now in its construction phase and is expected to open in mid to late November.
Once construction is complete, the dog park will be open and free to use for residents and nonresidents. It is located next to the visitors parking Lot at 116 Naticook Road.
On Monday, Oct. 10, members of the Dog Park and Parks & Recreation committees held an informal groundbreaking ceremony prior to the start of construction by CSSI Construction of Bedford. The dogs and their owners all had a great time exploring the future dog park’s grounds, and are looking forward to the completion of a monumental amenity in our community.
The Parks and Recreation Department extended its thanks to the Merrimack community for its votes during the PetSafe Contest, winning a $25,000 grant for the dog park, as well as to community sponsors, businesses and families for financially supporting this initial phase.
