Newly redesigned counselor in training program at day camp
MERRIMACK – The Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department has redesigned its Counselor in Training Program for this summer. The new program will be focused on helping teens prepare for the future by making sure they leave with the vital skills needed to enter the working world.
One main area of focus for this program will be teaching participants the skills necessary to be successful working with children and becoming a camp counselor. Through a hands on learning experience teens will get the chance to plan and implement camp activities for various age groups. In addition over the course of each session participants will learn how to write a professional resume, practice interview techniques and gain valuable leadership experiences that will enhance their job marketability.
The Counselor in Training Program will run from June 26-Aug. 18 and is designed for teens aged 14 or 15 years old. The program runs in two separate sessions. Session One runs from June 26-July 14. Session Two runs from July 24-Aug. 11.
