Merrimack Lions Club still winding up for June and July

While everyone is thinking of winding down and getting ready for the summer, the Merrimack Lions Club is continuing at full speed with several meetings in June, including the swearing in of new officers at the Common Man Restaurant and later with the honoring of the high school valedictorian and salutatorian.

In early June, the club is joining other New Hampshire clubs to attend “Dinner in the Dark,” where each member will experience dining out as a sight impaired person. Each attendee will be blindfolded with a sighted guide nearby. Over the July Fourth weekend, many of the members will attend the 100th Annual LCI Convention in Chicago. As soon as it is possible, the club will finish minor repairs and yard cleanup of a cabin at Camp Naticook in Wasserman Park. This is part of long term community service project with possible plans to adopt another cabin. Later in the summer, the club will sponsor two “Movie in the Park” nights in conjunction with the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department. Our first formal general meeting for year 2017-18 starts in September with a board meeting in August. The club is always looking for new members and new ideas so please feel free to contact us with an idea for a new project or to attend a meeting just to see what we are doing. Contact Alan Hoye at 424-7897 if interested in learning more.
