Local man named SCORE mentor

Anthony “Tony” Ferreria, of Derry, has been named by the Merrimack Valley Chapter of SCORE as a member of the volunteer nonprofit organization and a certified small business mentor.

SCORE, an arm of the U.S. Small Business Administration, is a national association with more than 13,000 volunteers. Its members provide no-cost business advice and counseling to existing small businesses and to those wishing to start new businesses.

Ferreira, now retired, spent more than 45 years in manufacturing environments. He has experience in supervisory and management roles, project management implementation and senior leadership and is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management. Ferreira is also a Gold Level Lean Back Belt with more than 20 years of practice in the areas of shop floor processes, administration, engineering and materials and inventory control. The industries in which he’s worked include capital equipment, computer disk drive manufacturing, military and commercial aerospace equipment, jet engines, rockets and missiles.

The Merrimack Valley NH Chapter of SCORE ( has approximately 60 current and former business executives available to provide free, confidential, one-on-one business counseling and training workshops for area start-ups and existing businesses. The chapter is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2017.

Parks and rec fall brochure available

The Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce that its Fall Program brochure is now available.

The department offers youth, teen, adult and family programs. In addition to the variety of programs, we have several special events and bus trip adventures.
