Bride S. Van Anglen

Bride S. Van Anglen (89) of Bedford, died November 17th, 2012 of Alzheimer’s disease at the Arbors of Bedford.

She was born October 4th, 1923 in Shotts, Lanarkshire, Scotland, one of nine children of Patrick J. and Katherine (Love) Shaughnessy. She later moved to Philadelphia, where she attended Holy Cross Grammar School and Little Flower Girls Catholic High School. In 1947, she became a United States citizen. She attended Germantown, PA Hospital School of Nursing and after raising her children, graduated from UNH and worked as a Registered Nurse for many years for the Manchester Department of Public Health. She also served on the Board of
Trinity High School in Manchester.

She is survived by four sons, Kevin, Sean, William and James; three grandchildren, Sean Patrick, Shelagh and Eric; two brothers, William and Michael; two sisters, Katherine and Patricia; two daughters-in-law, Kathleen and Patricia; two sisters-in-law, Anna and Mary; and two brothers-in-law, Gerry and Charles. Her husband, Walter T. Van Anglen, predeceased her as did her grandson, Dylan. A loving wife, sister, and mother, she regularly attended the meetings of the Manchester Catholic Nurses and was a faithful communicant of Saint Elizabeth Seton Church, Bedford.

Visitation will be held on Friday November 23 from 4 to 7PM at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester and also on Saturday November 24 from 9 to 10AM at St. Elizabeth Seton Church 190 Meetinghouse Rd. in Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at the Bedford Cemetery Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bride’s name to N.H.
