Arnold W. Tucker

Arnold W. Tucker, 86, resident of Wilton, NH, died June 19, 2010 at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH.

He was born in Boston, MA on November 11, 1923, a son of the late William J. and Susie (Robinson) Tucker.

Mr. Tucker graduated from Winthrop High School, Winthrop, MA, Class of 1941. He made his home in Wilton for more than 50 years.

He had been employed for many years by Abbot Worsted Mills in Wilton until it closed and retired from Sanders Lockheed Martin. In addition, he was also a police officer for the Town of Wilton for several years.

Mr. Tucker enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Bent Burke Post #10 American Legion, Wilton, Harley Sanford Post #4368 VFW, Milford and the National Rifle Association.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served as a ship signalman during World War II and Korea.

Family members include his wife of 57 years, Pauline V. (Guertin) Tucker of Wilton, NH; a daughter, Sharon Ames of Milford, NH; two sons, Paul A. Tucker and Scott W. Tucker, both of Hancock, NH; five grandchildren, Mike Gerry, David Gerry, Chad Tucker, Kelsey Tucker and Quinn Tucker; a brother, Earl Tucker of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

There are no visiting hours. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, June 25th at 3:00 pm in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 D.W. Highway, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Open Cupboard Food Pantry, 47 Maple Street, Wilton, NH 03086 or St. Joseph Home & Hospice Care, 24 North River Road, Milford, NH 03055. Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, is handling arrangements.
