Lucille Emily Einsmann

Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts – Lucille Einsmann, lovingly known as my “Darling” Grandmother, died Jan. 11, 2011 at home with her family and pet Ginger. She would have been 99 Jan. 15th.

Lucille was born in Manhattan, NY, to Albert and Lucy (Berge) Kessler, graduated from Julia Richmond High School, and lived on Long Island before coming to New England. She was married 53 years to the late Francis Xavier Einsmann. She worked in the home of Gorden and Marie Crothers of Islip, NY and Medfield, MA.

She mostly enjoyed time with her large family, gardening in sunny Florida and Buzzards Bay, playing Pinochle and boating with her sons.

Lucille spent four years as a “Rosie the Riviter” at Republic Aircraft on Long Island, NY and was noted as the only left-handed riviter there. She was very proud of this work and on May 10, 2007 her team was honored by the State of New York for their efforts.

She is survived by her five children, Francis Einsmann of Dunnellon, FL, Patricia Moore of Buzzards Bay, MA, Marion Keith of Hollis, NH, Lucy DesRoches of Mont Vernon, NH, and Christian Einsmann of the Florida Keys. There were 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren with five families of five living generations during her lifetime.

Most times called ‘Beanie,’ she will be long remembered for her happiness, zest for life, and sheer grit and determination. She was always ready for a new adventure.

A Memorial Service is planned for February 12, 2011 at the home of Patricia in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts.
