Pauline A. Pfluke

Pauline (Polly) A. Pfluke, 77, of Milford, NH died peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, NH.

She was born in Rochester, NY on March 10, 1936, to the late Joseph and Anna Dioguardi. She resided shortly in Peterborough, NH before making her home in Milford for the past 49 years.

Polly graduated from St. Joseph’s High School, and Rochester Business Institute (RBI) in Rochester, NY. She had worked at the NH Ball Bearings and Peterborough Bank, later working various jobs in the area including at Data Products and Diacom. She was an active member of the AARP and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was a social person, loving life, being with family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchild. She cherished every moment with them. She also enjoyed crocheting, often donating blankets to charities.

She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Dioguardi of Rochester, NY; and her granddaughter, Amanda M. Martel.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Leland Pfluke; two brothers, Adam Dioguardi and his wife Melody, Frank Dioguardi and his wife Barbara; a sister, Carmella Villa all of Rochester, NY; a daughter, Frances (Harris) Martel and her husband Jeff of Milford, a son, Michael Harris and his fiancé Jennifer of Palmer, MA; eight grandchildren, Sean, Stephanie, Bryan, Kaylie Martel, Captain Brandon Fiske of the US Air Force stationed in Hawaii, Lance Corporal Matthew Harris of the US Marines stationed in Quantico, VA, Mikayla and Julianne Harris; a great-granddaughter, Alessandra Martel; and several nieces nephews and cousins.

There are no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 6th at 10:00 am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
