Lana Holliday, 60, of Wilton, NH, died on Monday May 5, 2014, at St. Joseph’s hospital in Nashua, NH after battling a long illness.
She graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Elementary Education and spent many years as a fourth grade teacher in Milford, NH. During this time, she was one of the most requested and adored teachers. Later she worked as a college administrator and as a senior technical writer.
She was quite the adventurer in her youth, traveling across Ecuador, Europe and the British Isles among other places. She loved body surfing, hiking, and enjoyed dancing, cooking, reading, crocheting, spending time with friends and family, and volunteering in the community. One of her greatest passions was gardening; she maintained a lovely 300 square foot home garden of vegetables and flowers, and said that “just the sight of flowers, especially Zowie Zinnias, brighten my day.” In recent years, she created the website GardenToursNewEngland.com, which notes gardens and garden tours around New England.
Reserved, soft-spoken, and strong, Lana was an amazing woman, caring mother, homemaker and wife. She is greatly missed by her husband, David, and son, Grant.
Lana also leaves her mother Pauline, sister Kathy, and three brothers Frank, Willie, and Christopher.
The arrangements are in the care of the Michaud Funeral Home, 32 Maple St., Wilton, NH. To view an online obituary or leave a condolence, please visit our website at www.
