Stephen A. (Steve) Ferrency

Stephen A. (Steve) Ferrency, 69, of Milford, NH, died at home in the care of his family on August 1, 2014, after a year-long, ever hopeful struggle with pancreatic cancer. Born May 4, 1945, he was the only child of the late Stephen J. and Catherine Perotti Ferrency, of Torrington, CT.

His much loved family includes his wife of 46 years, Jacquelyn Richard Ferrency, of Milford, NH; a son, Alan Ferrency, his wife Marla Ferkett Ferrency and their children Martine and Ezra, all of Pittsburgh, PA; and a daughter, Sarah Ferrency, her husband Phil Burdick and their children Esther and Iona, all of Sitka, Alaska.

Upon graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 1967 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Steve chose to work for Sanders Associates in Nashua, NH. He remained with the company for over 35 years, through many changes in both job title and company ownership, and retired from BAE Systems in 2003. In retirement, Steve enjoyed having time to spend with his family, pursue his interests and travel. He built and flew radio controlled model aircraft, worked with wood, most recently turning beautiful wood bowls, and enjoyed traveling to visit children and grandchildren and to spend time in a warmer climate in the winter. Always eager to learn and create, Steve was rarely without a challenging and engaging project in progress. Some are left unfinished; many more had been planned.

Friends, old and new, and family, near and far, are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of his life at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Milford (UUCM), 20 Elm Street, Milford, NH, where a reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve’s memory may be made to Home Health and Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054, or on line at http://www.hhhc.org.
