Dr. John F. Rohter

ROHTER, Dr. John F. A resident of Amherst, New Hampshire, passed away at home on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at the age of 66. Formerly of Mason, NH and Concord, MA, he was born on November 7, 1947 in Newark, NJ and was the son of the late Warren J. and Barbara (Greim) Rohter. Dr. Rohter is survived by his wife, Deirdre; sister Carol Porter and her husband David of Gaithersburg, Maryland; son Eric Hatcher of Tampa, Florida; daughter Amy Rueda and her husband Eduardo of Honolulu, Hawaii; and son Christopher Rohter and his wife Sofia of Arlington, Massachusetts. John was the loving uncle of Joshua and Jeffrey Porter; Misty, Kayla and Duran Glover; and most recently, a very proud Papa to his granddaughter, Charlotte. John met his wife Deirdre in Mason, where they were married in June of 1983.

Prior to his retirement in 2012, Dr. Rohter led a thriving dental practice in Leominster for over 35 years where he was a respected caregiver to hundreds of patients, friends and family. He was a 1969 graduate of Nasson College in Springvale, Maine and received his D.D.S. at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, Maryland in 1973. John filled his recent days with his wife Deirdre, family and friends enjoying retirement through his many interests of cooking, writing, healthy living, exercise, tinkering, and continued learning.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Mason Congregational Church in Mason, New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Saint Joseph’s Indian School or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
