Dorothy Nothardt

Dorothy Nothardt, age 79, of North Port, FL, formerly a long-time resident of Hudson, MA and Mont Vernon, NH, passed away peacefully at Venice Regional Medical Center on February 15, 2015. Dorothy, known by most as “Dottie,” was born on November 26, 1935 in Maine.

Dottie was a caring mother, wife and grandmother, a dedicated worker, and a loyal friend. She was the plant manager for Westcon Corporation in Milford, NH and Lancaster Colony Corporation in Columbus, OH. Dottie was also a florist and she operated a cake decorating business where she wowed her clients with her artistic and meticulously designed wedding cakes. Dottie had an eye for the details and as a pastime she architected beautifully crafted dollhouses that, to this day, are loved by her great-grandchildren. In her later years she relocated to North Port, FL where she enjoyed sunshine and frequent outings with her lifelong friends, George and Rose Almeida. She also enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra, solving crossword puzzles, and trying her luck at a competitive game of cards. Dottie maintained her caring spirit and witty sense of humor until the end and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dottie was predeceased by her parents, Lillian McNamara and George Warren; her loving husband, John Nothardt; and siblings, Nancy Wheaton and Michael Warren.

She leaves behind her sister, Linda Rogers and brother-in-law, Gary Rogers; her four children, John Nothardt, Jr., Loreen Racicot, Lynne Senecal, and Lisa Nothardt; her sons-in-law, Ronald Racicot and Donald Senecal; as well as grandchildren, Bryce Racicot, Matthew Racicot, Fawn Racicot, Lizette Allen, Donald Senecal, Jr., and John Senecal; and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Conner, Emma, Deon, Ellie, Aubrey, and Harlo.
