Lloyd H. Parker

Lloyd H. Parker passed away after a long struggle with cancer on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire. “Sonny” was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.

Sonny was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and grew up in Vermont where he graduated from Orleans High School. After graduating he entered the Air Force. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Occupation Medal. Sonny met and married Hanna during his service in Germany. He served during the Korean War and participated in the Berlin Airlift. After his discharge from the Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, Sonny returned to Concord, New Hampshire with his family, and worked in the family bakery, Polly Susan’s. Sonny later started the Cookie Box Bakery in Milford where he worked until his retirement.

Sonny is survived by his wife, Hanna, of 62 years; three sons, David, Robert, and Daniel; a daughter, Carrol Chandler; eleven grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; and his brother, Thomas Parker and his wife, Ginny Parker. He is also survived by many relatives.

He is predeceased by his parents, Lloyd S. and Sabra Parker; and his sister, Pauline Anne Parker.

Military services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the New Hampshire State Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen, New Hampshire. A Celebration of Life will be held following the services. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Make-A-Wish of New Hampshire.
