Ruth Wallace Rheaume

Ruth Wallace Rheaume, 89, a longtime resident of Amherst, NH, died on June 17, 2015 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH.  Ruth was born on January 22, 1926 in Attleboro, MA, the youngest of five children.

She graduated from Attleboro High School in 1944 and joined Bell Telephone shortly after graduation. During her tenure with the telephone company, Ruth held several positions of increasing responsibility, working her way up to a Senior District Manager.  

Ruth attended college while working full time. She was a graduate of Northeastern University and Bryant College. She retired as Senior District Manager with Verizon and spent several years consulting thereafter. Following retirement Ruth enjoyed traveling to Europe, gardening and spending time with her beloved friends. She was an avid skier who skied the Swiss Alps. She had a passion for skiing Cannon Mountain in Franconia, NH. She was an avid tennis player and longtime member of Hampshire Hills Health Club in Milford, NH. Ruth was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, Highland Games and Boston Symphony Orchestra.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Muir Wallace Sr. and Sara E (Palmer) Wallace; her brother, James Muir Wallace Jr.; and sisters, Helen Hadden, Barbara King and Bertha Curtis. Ruth will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her friends and neighbors.

There are no calling hours and funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Humane Society of Nashua, 24 Ferry Rd, Nashua, NH 03064.
