Barbara Weston Calvin

Born and raised in Amherst, Barbara W. Calvin passed away peacefully on July 8, 2015 at her home in Oceanside, CA. with family members at her side. She was 90 years young.

She is survived by her two sisters, Roberta Wilkins of Amherst, NH, and Natalie Cass of Hancock, NH; and 17 nieces and nephews from California to the Eastern Seaboard. She was predeceased by her brother, Roger Weston; and sister, Gladys Patten and her husbands, Wayne Calvin and Robert T. Miner.

She went west to Oceanside with her brother Roger to move her fiance Robert Miner to USMC Camp Pendleton in the 1950’s.

Barbara worked at Hughes Aircraft for 40 years in the Aerospace Industry where she made many friends who stayed close in their retirement years.

Barbara was an angel who always was willing to make a bed for any family member or friend that needed a helping hand.

Raised on a working dairy farm in the depression and during WWII, Barbara was a valiant Patriot and volunteered to ride horseback during the war to alert New Englanders to turn off their lights so that the Germans couldn’t bomb the east coast after dark.

Barbara was remembered by her family and friends at a service in California.
